Dr. Alexander Mario Blum - Advisor

Dr. Alexander Mario Blum is a Post-Doctoral Scholar at Stanford University and the founder of Enrich Your Academics, a platform for translating his research on literacy and cognition into practical guidance for writers. With a Ph.D. in Special Education from UC Berkeley and SFSU, where he trained with notable professors like Dr. P. David Pearson, his work focuses on using innovative measurement approaches and visual narratives, like comics, to better understand and support the learning of individuals with autism. He is driven by a teaching philosophy centered on access and helping students cultivate their academic identity. Drawing on his extensive experience as a public-school teacher and university instructor, he now builds reading comprehension assessments for Stanford's Language to Literacy laboratory, all while mentoring students through a hands-on, "apprenticeship" approach to writing.
